Two "Dazzling" layouts and Tutorial sneak peak

This layout is of my neice Morgaine, she had some professional photographs done. Which you are allowed to use however you want. Anyway Design House Digitals new House party collaboration kit Dazzle seemed exactly right for this picture. This lo was created with Tia Hoffmans Complete Dazzle - House Party Collaboration Paper & Elements Full Kit

My second lo also features the Dazzle House Party collaboration and the Dazzle  kits by Courtney VanSickle and the kits by Kandy Caballero both layouts are in the Design House Digital One collab many ways Post (don't forget to comment on the many ways post for a chance to win one of the kits free)

This lo features a picture I was really chuffed that I captured. We go to the same place every year to spot dolphins. There are a lot of regulars there and we always have a laugh at the people who turn up wait 5 mins and leave complaining Huh There are no dolphins. This couple walked away just as the 1st dolphin appeared tossing Salmon.

My favourite layout from the other DHD decorators is

by Kelly  Birrell. What a stunning layout, although it was very hard to select a favourite as all the designers have made great use of this fabulous kit as can be seen on the  DHD blog post.

TOMMOROW TOMMOROW I'm going to love shareing a tutorial on Design House Digital this Tutorial shows how to make your own custom glimmer mists to match your projects and Digikits

On Sunday after 12pm Just click on the picture below to take you to the DHD BLOG Glimmer mist post

Thursday and Its This Thursday its all about.... Fresh 1st Challenge

Wow its been so exciting working on the new challenge, and its finally here. Our 1st challenge is fresh . It can be fresh techniques, fresh products . the word or whatever else fresh brings to mind I love my design team mates work and here is mine. As you can see I got a bit carried away and have made loads of stuff, to see my other peices , design team examples and some free downloads as well go to

http://www.thisthursday.wordpress.com/

This is my 1st Fimo plaque I made some fake malacite for the base, I will be doing a tutorial for Fake malacite and other fimo techniques on This Thursday at a later date . I ran my fimo through a pasta maker to condition it and also to get a consistant thickness. I also used Liquid fimo to which I added a tiny spot of alcohol ink to tint it to create the blue and green tinted glazes. This is put onto the Plaque after the oven and then cured with a normal heat gun I inked around the edge of the white plaque with one of the colorbox queue Rain Forest ink pad which is part of the great prize supplied by Craft 4 Creation all my examples use the queue ink pads except the Digi layout

This is a daisy pyramage There is a round version of the pyramage sheet available for download free on This Thursdays freebee page and an equivelant GSD file for all craft robo users
This card I directed tapped the ink pads onto a cuttlebug embossing folder. Then embossed onto white card. The I inked over the raised pattern with black ink. then cut out the two main shapes. Then punched two circles. I used the corners as added detail on the card. Oh and of course added the fresh as a daisy
This Digi Lo I wanted to find out if I could paper peice digitally this is my 1st attempt. I used the word and the defintiton for Fresh

There are a couple more examples on the challenge including a clipboard with Inked Grungeboard letters oh and a project using Cuttlebug embossing .

Well thats This thursdays, 1st challenge can't wait to see your examples, and I am hoping to catch up with some challenges that i have missed over the last week

Here is todays free paper

Introducing my grandson , Scrapdragons and Sisterhood of scrap and Take part Tuesday challenge entry

Hello all.

Thought for once I would do something totally unrelated to either the make your own metal embellishments challenge (which I do have another example for you of a layout using the make your own metal embellishments techniques. This is a layout I did a while ago. Thoughts on my daughter getting married I printed the title reversed onto paper . Then used this to trace the outline. Then embossed squiggles around the edge and a smaller squiggle inside)

or the Dovecraft Laura Ashley Competition. So went searching for challenges. I fancied doing some Scrapping as I haven't done any for a while anyway I came across,

Scrapdragons and their challenge was paper peicing and the Sisterhood of scrap whos challenge was Sun and its also another entry to the Take Part Tuesday Polka dots challenge as there were not many dots on my other entry.

So anyway went to print off my selected photos, put my new printer cartridge in my printer and it didn't fit.

Not to be put off I decided that I could do the layout I was thinking of as a digital lo with a digital paper peicing so here is my entry

This is my beautiful grandson Jake who is just 3 months old. These are two of my favorite photos and knew that these were the ones I wanted to do the layout with.

If you like the paper peicing you can downlod it in pink and blue or in the other colourway orange and blue

so thats it for today. Bye for now

So as it was challenge 11 and that made her think of the eleventh hour the challenge this week it is TIME

So here are my examples the two cards can deinatly be under 11th hour as I didn't think I would get any done feeling so unwell but have managed. Thanks to computer , craft robo and Paper Threads gsd files by Diana designs(dandilion) and J. Barelle Designs (the carnations)

my other example is a lo about The Midland Model Engineer exhibition. I have used the items that i bought there on the lo. I used the thread sizer gauge to place perfect circles and on the paper and metal tag I have used the Impress punches to impress the initials MMEE for Midland etc and 2007 on the metal tag both of which can be bought from Proops see previous MMEE post

Thursday 18th October. Chipboard frames

As part of a design pack from Papercraft Junkies I recived some chipboard elements. Now although I thought they were really nice, they are probably something I would nt have bought myself. Always up for a challenge I decided to start with tht part of my pack. I wanted to do something special with them, They are so easy t adapt and I wanted to show thatbut just wasn't happy with my very numerous ideas. However I was looking at them yesterday morning and suddenly inspiration hit.
So I set to it and before I knew it I'd created this for my sister. Its to remind her of her wedding day and about how close her family are.

I punched holes in the frames . The wires in the middle section start on one edge of the top frame get wrapped around the title and end up on the opposite edge of the bottom frame. I used a large chipboard flower and inked it with black then edged it in green marker, added the prima flower and letter brad. attached the chipboard letters . Inked the edge of the family matters chipboard and adhered that to the bottom frame . Added the paper flower, Used the Heidi Swapp paper ribbon to create a stem and to pick up on the pinks in the photo, added th paper flower and button with thread detail. Added some fibres to the bottom and a dome sticker and a pink and green paper flower to the bottom frame to pick up on the pink from the top frame.

Anyway Yvette really loves it and is hanging it in her livingroom. Im always really pleased when Yvette likes my stuff as being a crafter herself, and a good one at that, she is really honest. You know when you've spent ages on something and you think that somethings still not right, well I always take them to Yvettes abd as if she likes it, If she does then I'll tell her what I think is wrong and see if she agrees. Its really great, she has stopped me throwing some of my projects away, funnily enough when I look at them the day after, they look like different cards LOL

Anyway have a freebee for you today again a matching paper to yesterdays and the day befores freebees

If you like it you can download it Free Paper Download and a lighter version Free paper Download

Don t forget to comment for a chance to win the English Paper Company Blog Candy Giveaway (for details read blog candy posts)

Wednesday 17th October odd crafting bits

Thought you might like to know a bit about me, so here are a couple of los about myself

Digi Lo Things I am definatly NOT

About how my MUm myself and my daughter are very very similar another digi

Just a reminder about the era when I was born

Anyway if you haven't scrapped yourself, then what you should remember is that although we feel as if we arn't that interesting our grandchildren and great grandchildren will think we are. So lets give them something to think about, the more honest we are as scrappers the more valuable our scrapbooks will become, If we scrap both good and bad, our journey through life, it will be a useful tool for our grandchildren to see how we progressed through life, to see that we did nt always have it easy
This is a layout that is brutally honest about my strengths and weaknesses and how no matter what life has thrown at me, always manage to get up and start again. The brutally honest bit is in the mini book, my family have all read it, but its very honest. Its a digi lo and paper lo combination. I printed my digi and then scrapped it

anyway enough about me,
if you have a lo about yourself, post it on your blog and post a link here and you will get 2 bonus tickets in the English Paper Company Blog Candy Givewawy, and if you haven't scrapped yourself yet this is a good excuse to start. Any comment gets 1 ticket in the draw as per usual

Ps There will be 5 extra bonus tickets in the draw for the lo that grabs my attention and tells me something about you

Here is todays freebee paper based on yesterdays paper

If you like it you can download it free Free Paper Download

So everyone tell me about yourself in the form of a lo

Monday 15th October Papercraft Junkies Challenge

Hello everyone its Papercraft Junkies Challenge day again
This weeks challenge is Autumn, so use Autumn colours or themes, whatever autumn reminds you of. I love Autumn colours so again have a few examples. I took 6 Autumnal papers to work and just played around with them, This is what I ended up with

For this I used a leaf punch and a circle punch. I punched the leaf 1st then punched a circle around it with the punch held upside down so you can see where you are positioning it. Really easy but effective. Then placed the circles over a strip of textured gold card. Used the leaves that were punched out and a few more. Quick and simple card

This is the same basic technique only this time I punched a small circle. then puched the other circle off centre. This time I matted them twice and created an oriental feel.

Ive had a set of Autmn papers for 2 years, used a few when I 1st got them, for this layout

then saved the rest becuase I wanted to use them on another special project. However I still had quite a few So I decided to use some of them to create a mini book, and used the left over peices to create 2 more cards . I still have one of each of my favorite papers set aside for something really special. .

I cut out 3 of the tree designs on one of the papers, they had wiggly edged boxes around them
I used a Dovecraft chipboard ribbon slider sticker (although if you ve noticed the Papermania ones are exactly the same) Used the backing paper to make a ribbon . Thats it basically

This is the cover of the mini book I have made, although I must admit its not finished yet. I ve covered all the pages, but I want to fill it with pics I take this autumn and quotes. and finally

Used a thin strip of the remaining peice of my favorite paper, there wasn t much left as its mostly in my book., and two other strips, and placed them at bottom of card. Then used a chipboard slide mount around the remaining peice of my favorie paper . added brads and attached to top of card. This is a great way to make the most of your favorite papers. Even though there is not much of that paper left both peices really stand out as the feature of the card

Don't forget that my very tallented design team mates examples for challenge 10 can be seen HERE and if you enter you could win a 15% discount from at www.craftycarrot.com.
As usual I have created a themed paper for you to download

available to download Free paper Download

Thursday 11th 2007

Hello all

Spent the day with my Mum, except for my appointment at the torture chamber (thats the dentists for those lucky souls who do not recognise the description). So as I have been busy have not had any time to craft.

I have been tagged three times in 4 days. I would nt mind but its the same one I did a couple of months ago. Its the 7 wierd facts about yourself. I really am in two minds about this as last time when I tagged my 7 5 of them had all done it before. I will have to think about this as 1 its all old news and 2 maybe that tag has been going around just a bit too long now. However if you havent been tagged and would like to be just leave me a comment and if i get 7 interested souls i will dredge up 7 more mildly weird facts about me and tag all those who put themselves forward.

I have noticed that there have been requests for tutorials for some of my projects.
I have been considering putting 1 tutorial a month on and I know that its also something that the Papercraft Junkies Design team have been discussing recently and I would be interested to see just how much interest there would be for this.

So take advantage tell me what you think, and get more entries into the Blog candy draw for the English paper Company Christmas collection pack. (details Link)
If there is anything else you would like to see then I would love to hear your comments.

Anyway I have had a chance to play on the computer today and have been playing around wih Public domain images to create 12 by 12 papers anyway this is my freebee

BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello all I have decided that I am going to try and giveaway a Blog candy every month. So each month I will put all the comments from my blog posts into a hat and draw a winner.
This month the Blog Candy has been donated by The very kind English Paper Company
With Christmas coming up they have very kindly donated a whole 12 by 12 stack of their Christmas collection (which can be seen by clicking on the above link) There you will see the six design ranges that the whole collection encompases. With something for everybody it is ideal for cardmaking and scraping.
I have made some examples using the Winter wonderland and festive frost selections.

On the angel card I have used one paper as a backgound , tore the angel from another paper and the word Angels sing and adhered with Silicon then I only added some gems. On the star boxes I have added peel off borders and gems. On the flower card I just added the flowers and leaves and on the frost I added sakura to the bow and peel off border and the sparkles either side of the frost. These papers are so versaile to many different uses, but importantly you can get very effective looks with very little work. Great if your mass producing your Christmas cards. Great for Chistmas giftboxes and bags.
Next week I will have examples from the other selections.
I am quite happy to post this to anywhere in the world so please feel free to take part no matter where you live. for every comment on my blog posts between 22nd Sept and 25th October you get one entry into the draw.

Next month I have another great giveaway as well which I will announce sometime next week

I also have two .Yes two free papers (my original designs not the English paper Companys designs (just to avoid confusion) for you today. I love the artworks of Klimt and these papers are inspired by his work.

Papercraft Junkies Challenge

Sorry my Papercraft Junkies challenge post is late, I have a really good reason, my sister and I had to make a 20 page album in 30 hours for one of my Sisters friends, for her to have in time for her mums funeral. It was finished late last night so I hav nt had time to post.
So here is a slide of the album

It was my turn to pick the Papercraft Junkies Challenge this week. So I thought dimension would be a great challenge for scrappers cardmakers and altered artists. Here are my examples

the clootie well You walk 3 times around the well then tie a peice of cloth to a tree (from someone with an ilness) as the fabric rots it takes the illness with it. The clootie well is a really strange place as its really chaotic to look at all those multi coloured bits of feabric hanging everywhere, and yet there is a feeling of serenity So strange

This is a three layer teabag card done with basket weave fold medallions. I think it looks like a daffodil

I took a large three layer flower sticker by Paper adventures
dismanteled it and used on layer as a template to cut an aperture then stuck the sticker inside the card so that one layer was hidden inside, but when you open card you can see the whole flower.

Pop out card, done with Emboss and pricking medallion stencil . To see all the examples by Papercraft Junkies Design team click Here. Don't forget if you enter the challenge you can win a 15% discount for http://www.craftycarrot.com/I have also a free paper download designed with dimension in mind

available to download here
